Mr. James R. Agan , age 78,of Ellijay died Saturday July 21,2018.
Mr. Agan was born, April 22,1940, in Anniston, AL the son of the late, Starling and Annie Freeman Agan. He graduated from Centre, Al High School, served in the US Army and retired from Inland-Rome where he worked as a heavy equipment operator. James was a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church and the “Whitepath Creepy Crawlers”.
Survivors include: wife: Mary Nell Agan, son and daughter in Law: Steve and Donna Agan, Centre AL, daughter and son-in-law:Tammy and Randall Pynther, Rome, step children: Richard Chase, Kennesaw, Michael and Candice Chase, Cartersville, Brent Sanford, Ellijay, Amy Sanford, Ellijay, special friends: Evans Ensley, Rois Ledford, Waldo Pierce, Sophie Schenk, and Kenneth Grizzle, 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev Cecil Townley, Rev. Billy Dotson, Rev. Coy Richards and Rev. Chris Chastain officiating. Interment will be in the Clear Creek Baptist Church cemetery with graveside rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
The family will meet with friends Monday from 5 until 9pm at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to; Clear Creek Baptist church cemetery fund % Rois Ledford 230 Orchard lane, Talking Rock,GA.30175, and the family requests no food be brought to the funeral home.
