James Brenton De Ford, Sr: Obituary

Mr. James Brenton De Ford, SR. age 75 of Ellijay, died Wednesday August 15,2018.

Jim was born, October 20,1942,in Peru,IN, the son of the late Bernard Paul and Juanita Irene Tucker De Ford. He was a graduate of Marion High School and graduated from Broward Junior College, Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Jim was a veteran, serving 4 years with the US Air Force. He was a Financial Planner in Florida for 20 years. Previously, he worked with the Fraternal Order of Police, providing Country Western Entertainment (Fund Raiser Shows). Jim was a Mentor in the Gilmer County Veteran Drug Court.

Survivors include: sister; Jo Ann Phillips, sons, James Brenton, Jr.; Trimble,MO, Shawn Scott, Mt Pleasant,SC, daughter; Nichole Peterson, Clearwater, FL and nine grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Saturday October 20,2018 (Jim’s Birthday) at 4:00pm at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Eaton officiating.

Bernhardt funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
