Ora Mae Butler Gaskin

October 19, 1921 – November 02, 2018

Mrs. Ora Mae Butler Gaskin, age 97, of Marietta, formerly of Ellijay, died Friday, November 2, 2018.

Mrs. Gaskin was born, October 19, 1921, in Coalfield, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Albert Clarence and Martha Amos Butler. After high school she worked in the hosiery mill in Harrison TN and later as a daycare and kindergarten teacher. She was a member of the Cartecay Baptist Church.  Her parents; husband, of 64 years Carlos Ray Gaskin, son, Larry Douglas Gaskin, great granddaughter, Haley Webber, son-in-law; Charles R. Ramey, along 5 brothers and 3 sisters preceded her in death.

Survivors include: son Michael Gaskin (Ila), daughters; Cheryl Ramey, Martha MacArthur (Chuck), Carla Bradley (Coy), Gail Petite, daughter-in-law; Cassandra Gaskin, 11 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday November 5, 2018, at 2:00pm from the Cartecay Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Summers and Rev. Chad Hall officiating. Interment will be in the Flinthill community cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Monday from 12 noon until the funeral hour of 2:00pm at the church.

Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to Cartecay Baptist Church @ 118 Riverwood Rd. Ellijay, GA. 30536 in memory of Mrs. Gaskin.
