Mr. Gervis “Pete” Watson, age 86 of Ellijay, GA passed on Tuesday morning, December 25th, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Watson was born June 30th, 1932 in Dawsonville, GA, to his late parents Solomon Melvin and Bertie Mae Crane Watson. Pete was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church and was previously employed by Kiker Lumber Supply, Cannon Rug and Hampton Mills. He served his country honorably in the United Stated Army. Pete is preceded in death by his sisters, Mamie Chester, Alma Hice, Helen Millsaps, Opal Jordan and brother, Howard Watson
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday December 28th, 2018 at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Stover, Rev. Carroll Holbrooks, Rev. Roger Elliott, and Brother David Kinser officiating. Music and singing will be by Ronald & Linda Hyde, Hannah Sales and Eli Wishon. Graveside Interment will follow in the Clear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Gene Kinser, Ronnie Chester, Joe Hice, Glen Kirkland, Phillip Davenport, Jr. Eli Wishon, Matthew Colwell and Marcus Kinser serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Millsaps, Marvin Pritchett and Phillip Davenport.
Pete is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bennie Lee Stokes Watson of Ellijay, GA, several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
