Wednesday afternoon had the Gilmer Tennis team take to the courts a Bridge Mill in Cherokee County. The weather was a little cool but the racquets were pretty hot for the Bobcats and not so much for the Lady Cats.
The Gilmer girls couldn’t get things going as they faced a good Warriors team. On this day the better team got the best of the Lady Cats who were unable to muster a win. The Lady Warriors took all the matches to win the day 5-0.

Doubles: Josie Reece/Mary Elizabeth Walker…4-6,6-1,2-6(L), Jenna Cole/Ellie Teague…1-6,2-6(L)
The Gilmer boys took a 3-2 victory over the Cherokee Warriors on Wednesday afternoon. The singles matches were the difference in scoring as the three Cats dominated their opponents.

Doubles: Mason Hadden/Kaden Reece…0-6,0-6(L), Rylan Cochran/Bryson Sisson…0-6,6-2,5-7(L)
In an exhibition match, Gavin Berger defeated his opponent 8-6.
The 2019 season is just getting started and the Gilmer tennis teams will continue to work hard and tune their skills as the region approaches.
Next up will be at Dawson High School to face off with the Tigers on Monday, February 18. Start time is set for 4:00 PM.
