The Gilmer Junior Varsity tennis teams faced off against the Dawson Tigers on Wednesday with boys and girls getting the wins.
Stepping to the court for the Lady Cats and sweeping their opponents:
Ellie Teague with a win over Carly 8-4, Abi Contlay win over Chloe 8-4, and Jenna Cole win over Hailey 8-2 on the singles side.
In the doubles action for the Gilmer Lady Cats JV, Jessica Futch/Kylie Callihan defeated Wendy and Avery B. 8-2, Hannah Walker/Cana Coleman defeated Avery B. and Avery by an 8-1 score. In an exhibition match, Kaylee Baccera/Bailey Wells fell to Isabella and Kelci 6-8.
With the boys taking the courts, the Cats continued the afternoon with a sweep as well over the Tigers of Dawson. Coming away with victories in singles was Isaac Bradshaw 8-2 over his opponent and Isiah Sharp 8-0 over his opponent.
Doubles action had Gavin Berger/Ethan Cole 8-2 over the Dawson Tigers and Will Teague/Andy Lopez taking their match 8-1.
