ELLIJAY, Ga. – The Gilmer County Post Office will be hosting a canned food drive on Saturday, May 11, 2019.
Items needed are nonperishable food items such as pasta, cereal, oatmeal, canola oil, peanut butter, toiletries, baby diapers, and canned goods such as beans, fruit, vegetables, soup, tuna in water, meat and sauce. Please avoid glass containers and home-canned goods (such as pickled vegetables and other things canned in mason jars).
All donations stay within the local community.
All donations can be dropped off at the Gilmer County Post Office, or you may simply leave them in your mailbox or place them in a bag and hang them from your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up. Please don’t place donations on the ground.

This is a great cause. There are more hungry children in this county than people realize . I am a letter carrier that has picked up donations for 20 years and it makes a huge difference even if people leave just 1 item. Thank you for posting
