Mr. William Charles Wright, age 88, of Ellijay, died Wednesday August 7, 2019.
Mr. Wright was born September 26, 1930, in Gilmer County the son of the late Walter and Shirley Patterson Wright. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ and retired from the Gilmer County Road Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Terry Wright, siblings, Raymond Wright, Billy Wright, Betty Wright, Kathryn Wright Champion, Bobby Collis, and former wife Betty Jean Pinson.
Survivors include; son and daughter-in-law; Sammy and Judy Wright, Ellijay, 3 grandchildren, Joshua and Elise Wright, Kimberley Carns and Melissa Tigner.7 great-grandchildren, Caleb Covington, Rachell Covington, Mattie Massengill, Samuel Massengill, Edward Wright, Elenore Wright, Lydia Wright, one great great grandchild, Noel Covington, brothers Luke Wright and Jimmy Collis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Minister Butch Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Yukon cemetery.
The family will meet with friends from 12noon until 3:00pm Saturday at the funeral home.
