James Marlin Wilson, age 82, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2019. He was of the Baptist faith.
He worked 40 years for South Central Bell/AT&T. After retirement, he volunteered for more than 25 years with Campers on Missions.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marlin G. Wilson & Alice Ferguson Wilson, his in-laws Mayo and Jeanette Guthrie, brother Grady H. Wilson, sister Mary Alice Bender, & son-in-law William J. (Bill) Kelly.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bobbie Guthrie Wilson, daughter & son-in-law Cynthia (Joe) Wildman, son & daughter-in-law Fritz (Deborah) Wilson, daughter Jennetta Kelly, & six grandchildren; Nathan Wildman & Amanda Cawston, Anthony Palmeri, Benjamin Wilson, Molly Grace Kelly, & Elijah Wilson
He is also survived by countless “adopted” children from the Northside Baptist Church youth program from the 1970s-1980s.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, August 24, at 2:00 pm in Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper, AL. The family will receive friends following the service at New Prospect Baptist Church Christian Life Center. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the New Prospect Baptist Church renovation project in memory of Mr. Wilson.
