Mr. Jimmy Hipp, age 81, of Ellijay, died Monday, August 26, 2019.
Mr. Hipp was born, October 15, 1937, in Gilmer County, the son of the late Ben and Reba Allen Hipp. He worked as a truck driver for Gilmer County, was a member of the Cartecay Baptist Church and Oak Bowery Lodge #81 F&AM.
Survivors include: wife of 60 years; Mary Lou Hipp, daughter, Amanda Wigington, son, Sam Wigington, Jasper, and grandson; Ben Wigington along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. Chad Hall officiating. Interment will be in the Yukon cemetery with graveside rites by Oak Bowery Lodge #81 F&AM.
The family will meet with friends Thursday from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in memory of Mr. Hipp.
