Bobby Ralph Barfield, Sr., 79, of Ellijay, was born April 7, 1940, in Ideal, GA, passed away August 28,2019, joining his wife Doris Barfield and son Bobby Ralph Barfield, Jr.
He leaves behind Angel Barfield and Misty Bush of Ellijay. Bobby Wesley Barfield, Athens, TN, Norman Barfield, Acworth, GA, Wesley Barfield, Warner Robbins, GA, JoAnne Abberger, Ft. Myers, FL, and Debra Reese, Spartanburg, SC., and many others who called him “Dad” and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was a roofer for nearly 40 years, before deciding to become a truck driver for J.B. Hunt, from which he retired. After retiring he moved to Ellijay, where he was a full time “PawPaw”. You could always find him working in his garden, building something, working on cars or just helping a friend.
We are having a memorial service on Sept. 7, 2019 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at his home. In honor of him, we would like to have a potluck lunch. So please bring a dish. He really enjoyed friends and family getting together and enjoying good food. For more info; please call Misty at 706-669-6975.
