Overturned vehicle rerouting traffic

ELLIJAY, Ga. – An accident involving an overturned vehicle is rerouting traffic at the intersection of Old Highway 5 and Howard Simmons Road.

One driver traveling the area just after the accident said they rerouted the immediate traffic through a small part of the field next to the road. Drivers should avoid the area in favor of alternate routes for the near future. Authorities are attending to the accident and those involved as they continue to work towards clearing the roadway.

Some onlookers reported that at least one person was injured, however, there is currently no official information from authorities available as to the condition of any involved in the accident. Additionally, as efforts continue toward clean-up, there is also not an estimate on how long the process could take.
