The Bobcats are off to a 2-0 start this season as they took down the Fannin County Rebels 49-35 on Friday night. The Bobcats posted an incredible 379 yards on the ground (441 total yards) as they dominated in the trenches in this one and kept running over the Rebels defense. RB Hunter Watkins and QB Issac Rellinger led the way for the Bobcat offense as the two combined for 368 yards of offense and 6 of the 7 Bobcat TDs in this one.
Team Notes
Watkins had two big first half touchdowns, a 69-yard TD run in the first quarter, and he broke off a 90-yard run in the second quarter to retake the lead. He finished with 208 yards on just 8 carries averaging 26 YPC and 2 TDs. Rellinger connected with WR Bryson Daniel on a 38-yard TD pass in the 2nd and was 2/3 for 62 yards, TD in the air and added another 98 yards and 3 TDs on just 5 carries. Will Kiker added another TD on the ground on a 6-yard run in the third quarter.
The Rebels offense had a good night as they totaled 351 yards, but their defense failed to keep them in the game as the Bobcats ran it all over them. Neither Maxpreps nor Hudl had individual stats posted for Fannin County.

The Gilmer Bobcats will host the Murray County Indians (0-2) as they look to stay undefeated, while the Fannin County Rebels will have their home opener against the Pickens Dragons (0-2) as the Rebels look to pick up their first win of the year.
