Fannin Takes This One in a Big 7-1 Win

Back on Monday night the Gilmer Bobcats fell to the Fannin County Rebels 7-1 in what was an absolute gem from the Rebels pitching staff. Fannin pitchers allowed just the one run on four hits while striking out 11 Bobcats. Connor Martin led the Rebels offense with three RBIs in this one as Fannin County recorded a run in every inning but the 2^nd.

Game Notes

For Gilmer it was a night to forget at the plate. Though they did draw seven BBs, only three Bobcats recorded hits; Noah Gutlio led with two while Brock Titus and Aiden McClure each recorded one hit. Hayden Barry had a night to forget with the hat trick at the plate, striking out three times, while three other Bobcats struck out multiple times. Haden West had a decent night on the mound allowing two runs on four hits and struck out six across his three innings of work. The rest of the Bobcats in relief combined to go 3 innings allowing five runs on seven hits and three walks.

The Rebels dominated in this one. Bristol Hughes had a good start on the bump going 2 2/3rds allowing just one hit while striking out three. Colton Gray gave up the only run in this one but finished with an impressive six Ks in the 2 1/3^rd innings of work he got. Carson Callihan led the Rebels in hits with four while Martin led with three RBIs. Callihan, Gaige Foster, Christian Beavers, and Gavin Davis all recorded an RBI in this one as well.
