William Dewey Berry, 84, passed from this life Sunday morning, June 19th, 2011, at his residence on Penland Street, Ellijay, Georgia.He was born on November 5, 1926, to his late parents William Dewey Sr. and May Belle Powell Berry in Milan, Dodge County, Ga. and was a Charter Member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Milan. A graduate of Milan High School Class of 1943, to which he immediately joined the U.S. Army and served honorably in the Italian European Theatre of War. He returned home to his town of Milan, and was employed at the John Deere Tractor Dealership, to which in the early 1960’s he opened his John Deere Dealership in Millen, Ga. to which he operated until retirement.

A graveside service will be held by the family in Milan, Ga. at a later date.

Mr. Berry is survived by his wife, Evelyn Reeves Berry of Milan, Ga: sons and daughters-in-law Glenn and Rosemary Berry of Ellijay, Ga and Emmett “Ves” and Margaret Berry of Macon, Ga.; Grandchildren and In-laws Bryan and Cathy Berry of Roswell, Ga., Christa and Tom Mattlau of Sugar Hill, Ga., Emily Barry of Augusta, Ga., and Catherine Berry of Macon, Ga.; great-grandchildren: Ben Mattlau, Katelyn Mattlau, and Brady Berry; sister Veneta Berry Kelly of Thomaston, Ga., brother Charles Marlin Berry of Kathleen, Ga., sister-in-law and brother-in-law Greta and Dalton Spires of Milan Ga.,; nephew Mike Spires of Milan, Ga.
