Mrs. Sue Ponder Mealer age 73 of Douglasville, GA formerly of Ellijay died Tuesday June 21, 2011.

Mrs. Mealer was born on September 19, 1937 in Gilmer Co. to the late Howell and Mae Beavers Ponder. She was a housewife and a member of the Burnt Mountain Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her father in-law and mother in-law, Phillip and Lola Turner Mealer.

Survivors Include: Husband: Clarence Mealer, of the home; Children and In-laws: Allen Mealer, Birmingham, AL, Emmett Wright, Birmingham, AL, Curtis & Barbara Mealer, Newnan, GA, Karen Matheney, Douglasville, GA, Linda & Jimmy Bearder, Carrollton, GA; Sister: Sarah Frost, Spring Field, AL; Grandchildren: Gina Spence, Beth Bostwick, Johnny & Candace Powers, Michael Powers, Josh & Jennifer Sewell, Daniel & Nikki Sewell, Heather & Brandon Rice, and Jessica Matheney; Great Grandchildren: Keri Spence, Bradley and Conner Bostwick, Dylan and Aaliyah Powers, Addison and Jacob Sewell, Lorin Rice.

Funeral Service will be held Friday June 24, 2011 at 2pm at the Burnt Mountain Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Holbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Burnt Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery.

The Family will be receiving friends Thursday June 23rd from 2pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.
