Mrs. Bernice Emma Davis Pankey, age 78, of the New Hope Community, Ellijay, GA, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 28th, 2011 at her residence.She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Pankey was born on May 31st, 1933 to her late parents Harrison Samuel Davis and Arvilla Edna Griggs Davis in Ellijay, GA. She was employed as a waitress in the food industry. She is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Pankey, sisters Louise D. Young, Mary Nell Davis and brother O’Daniel Davis.

Survivors include sons; Ronald Lamar McCollum and Lonnie Charles Flower both of Ellijay, GA, grandchildren; Ronald Harrison McCollum and Stephanie McCollum. Brothers and sisters-in-law; Lloyd and Ruth Odell Davis of Ellijay, Melvin and Glenda Davis of Ellijay, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 30th, 2011 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Billy Dotson and Rev. Philemon Davis officiating. Music and song by James Abercrombie. Graveside interment service will follow in the Ballew Memorial Cemetery.

Family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, September 29th, 2011 at the Logan Funeral Home.
