Drug Task Force Executes Three Search Warrants

Commander Brandon Owens of the Zell Miller Mtn. Parkway Drug Task Force releases the following information:
Task Force Agents, with assistance from Gilmer Co. Sheriff’s Office deputies, executed three (3) search warrants during the month of December 2011. These warrants targeted street level methamphetamine and marijuana dealers. The first warrant was served on December 2nd at a business/residence off of Roy Road. Approximately 1.5 grams of methamphetamine was seized along with 14 firearms. JAMES ADAMS, age 54, along with his son, JESSE ADAMS, age 36, were both arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine.
The second warrant was served on December 20th at a residence off of Dogwood Road. During the search, approximately 20 grams of marijuana and a residual amount of methamphetamine was located and over $1,000 in drug money was seized. MITCHELL FARIST, age 45, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Methamphetamine.
The third warrant was executed on December 21st at a residence off of Robs Road. During the search, seven (7) marijuana plants were located along with 14 grams of marijuana, 56 Oxycodone tablets, and four (4) firearms were seized. BRYAN FARIST, age 38, was charged with Manufacturing Marijuana, Possession of a Schedule II drug, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. RUSSELL SCOGGINS, age 41, was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. KATIE PASTUSZKA, age 19, and CASSIDI THOMAS, age 18, were also arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute. Approximately $10,000 in drugs were seized along with 18 firearms taken off the street.
