Mountain District’s Cub Scouts met for fun and learning during the 2012 Fall Loop-a-rama at Gilmer Parks and Recreation, and the Gilmer County Saddle Club, 17 Nov.
Cub Scouts from packs in Gilmer, Fannin, Union and Towns counties participated in flag football, tennis, archery, BB marksmanship, horseback riding, and Cherokee language and culture.

Mountain District holds loop-a-rama events in the fall and spring each year, giving Cub Scouts a chance to learn and earn recognition in the form of belt loops based on a variety of academic and sports based categories, while meeting and having fun with brethren in packs from across the district.

Belt loops adorn uniform belts signifying achievement similar to the merit badges worn by their older counter-parts in the Boys Scouts. Boys choose which events they wish based on their personal interests.
Pleasant Hills Montessori School’s Pack 404 sponsored the event in conjunction with the Gilmer County Saddle Club, Gilmer County Parks and Recreation and the Gilmer High School Tennis Team.
