Joycelyn Rita Thompson age 83, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, passed on Monday evening, at the Gilmer Nursing Home in Ellijay, Georgia, formally of Birmingham, Alabama.She was born on July 29th, 1929, to her late parents William A. and Irene Despot Frey, Sr., in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her late husband Clyde William Thompson.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Clyde Randall and Terri Thompson of Mineral Bluff, Georgia, four grandchildren, brothers William A. “Junior” Frey of Augusta, Georgia and Melvin Frey of Birmingham, Al.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday March 7th, at the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel in Leeds, Alabama, with Rev. Mark Boyd officiating, followed by a graveside interment service at Cahaba Heights Baptist Church Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama.

Visitation at the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel will be from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Centeral Time Zone, with flowers being acceptable.
