Mr. Elmer H. Hensley, age 77 of Pleasant Gap Road, Ellijay died Tuesday March 25, 2013.

Mr. Hensley was born Aug. 24, 1935 in Gilmer county, the son of the late Amos and Zella Smith Hensley. He worked as a mechanic for Galaxy Carpet and was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by a grandson Adam Ponder, brothers Eugene Hensley, Delmer Hensley, Edd Hensley, and step-mother: Eddith Hensley.

He is survivied by his wife Vira Arnold Hensley of home, sons & daughter in-law: Jerry & Tammy Hensley Lafayette GA, Mitchell & Barbara Hensley, Ellijay GA; daughter & son in-law: Janet & Randy Ponder, Ellijay; 5 grandchildren: Justin and Torri Hensley, Cody and Tiffton Hensley, Joey and Lindy Patterson, Kayla and Jamie Easley, Jake and Kellie Ponder, all of Ellijay; 5 great grandchildren, Clara and Annabelle Hensley, Adison Hensley, Allysia Keen, Gabe Patterson, Rydlee Ponder; brother & sister in-law: James & Evelyn Hensley, Fred & Mary Hensley, Edith Hensley, Bernadine Hensley, all of Ellijay; sisters & brothers in-laws: Teresa & Bobby Parker, Talking Rock, GA, Readell & Chuck Holland, Panama City FL, Bonnie Smith, Talking Rock, GA and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday March 28,2013 at 2:00 pm from the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Patterson, Rev. Glenn Arnold and Rev. Roger Burgess officiating.

Interment will be in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will meet with friends Wed after 4:00 pm at the funeral home and they also request no food be brought to the funeral home.
