Virgil Fletcher of Ellijay passed away Sunday, April 14th 2013.He was born on September 26, 1921 in Coaldan, VA to the late Russell and Nannie Fletcher. He served in the navy during WWII. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruby and wife Laura, as well as brother Russell Fletcher and sisters Beatrice Cecil and Effie Pierce.

Mr. Fletcher is survived by son and daughter-in-law; Charles and Sharon Fletcher, daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Roland Matthews, step-daughters and husbands; Jane and Johnny Ferguson, Mary and Bobby Hicks and Billie and Doug Wood. Also a brother and sister-in-law; Lewis and Zelma Fletcher, sisters; Georgie White and Delores Counsell, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Bill and Eleanor Payne. Mr. Fletcher also had 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Fletcher was cremated and there will be a graveside service at a later date in Newport News, VA
