Lap-Sit Storytime – Snowmen

Lap-Sit story time is a fun and personalized way to encourage early literacy by including books, songs, rhymes, and physical activity for ages 1 to 3 years with a participating adult.
Weekday Storytime – Zany Zoos

Come and listen to Mrs. Judy as she tells the story of the wacky Zany Zoos. Right after the story, we always have craft time. All ages are welcome. Children under 9 require a responsible adult.
Puppet Show – Fox Learns a Lesson

Bring the children and come see what lesson is taught to the sly ole fox. We always have a simple craft following our puppet shows. All ages are invited to attend. 9 and under must be accompanied by an adult

Teen Knit and Crochet
Thursday, January 15 @ 4:00 PM
Learn the basics or if you already know how to knit or crochet come work on a project with us – bring our own knitting needles or crochet hook and yarn. Ages 12 years and up.

Basic Computer Skills

Do computers make you nervous? Are you not sure how to find webpages on the Internet? If you answered yes to these questions, this class is definitely for you. This free class usually fills up early so call the library to register.
Adult Lunch and Learn Knitting & Crocheting
Wednesday, January 21 @ 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Bring your brown bag lunch, needles and yarn to the Gilmer County Library. Already know how to knit, come for the fun! If you are unable to attend a meeting, that’s ok. You don’t have to be at every class. If knitting, bring #8 needles and yarn of any color. If crocheting, bring G or H hooks and Peaches & Cream cotton yarn of any color.
Internet Basics

We will be teaching the basics of how to get on the Internet, search for and navigate websites, and signing up for an email account. Limited spots available. Registration is recommended
The Friends of the Library Bookshelf
Calling all American History buffs! The Bookshelf is featuring a collection of interesting and unusual titles this week. You’ll find them inside the shop and on the carts outside as well.
Remember that the library welcomes donations of gently used books and magazines. Those that the library doesn’t need come to the Bookshelf with all the proceeds benefiting the library. Don’t forget to visit the “back room” of the Bookshelf for newly stocked non-fiction and magazines.
Bookshelf hours are from 10:30 AM-5:00 PM on weekdays and from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM on Saturdays.
