William Clarence Leatherwood, 82 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Saturday, January 17, 2015.He was born October 22, 1932 in Ellijay, Georgia to his late parents Jesse James and Leila Viola Fendley Leatherwood. Mr. Leatherwood was a retiree of Williams & Thomas Lumber Company where he worked as a sawyer. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his wife Louise Harris Leatherwood, and brother Jimmie Leatherwood.

Survivors include Daughters & Sons-in-law Layne & Ron Frantz of Jasper, GA, Sandra & Jeff Hayes Hendersonville, NC, Clarice & Mark Melvin, Nashville, NC.; Son and Daughter-in-Law Terry & Lois Leatherwood of Ellijay, GA.; Grandchildren Kyle Frantz, Nicholas Frantz, Katie Frantz, Summer Allen Wells, Cody Melvin, Lindsey Melvin, Dillon Hawley, Reese Melvin, Brannon Leatherwood, Taylor Leatherwood; Great Grandchild Caulder Frantz; Sisters, Mabelene L Weaver of Villa Rica, GA and Betty L. Honea of Villa Rica, GA.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM, Monday January 19th, 2015 at Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Euel Reece officiating. Military graveside will follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion, with Military Rites by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will be in the Cherry Log Baptist Church Cemetery, Cherrylog, GA. Pallbearers will be grandsons Kyle Frantz, Nick Frantz, Brannon Leatherwood, Taylor Leatherwood, Dillon Hawley, Cody Melvin. Honorary Pallbearers will be the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday, January 18, 2015, at Logan Funeral Home. Flowers are being accepted or donations may be made to the Cherry Log Baptist Church Cemetery Fund P.O. Box 485 Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Clarence Leatherwood.
