I am quite amused by the gleeful MSM headlines portending the imminent doom of the GOP: “Chaos on Capitol Hill”; “Republicans in a Frenzy” and etc., etc. & etc. That’s nonsense of course. Actually, the GOP is facing its first hard test. Maybe, just maybe, good order and discipline could return to the process with some gumption thrown in for good measure.

The only despair I register is from the Republican elite class who fear their sinecures could be slipping away. What is going on, right now, before our very eyes, is the beginning of the end (I hope) of the Republican Party’s role in classic cronyism (I doubt), that corrupt system of campaign financing where cash flow from the worlds bankers, big business and big labor unions, all directed to their bought and paid for politicians to ensure the enactment of laws that benefit them and them alone. Into this mix slips the one world government advocates too.

What we see happening to the GOP is the start of the reckoning I have often mentioned. Reckoning sounds more sophisticated than calling it the GOP’s much need enema. Well, It’s just getting started and it could be brutal. Mr. Kevin McCarthy apparently didn’t tell the soon to be unlamented former Speaker, that he was going to exercise his option to withdraw. One is at pains to wonder why that singular act should have caused Speaker Boehner to stop the election for a new speaker. The logical conclusion is the GOP wants one of its own (corruptible) in the leadership position instead of a Tea Party supported leader. How will this turn out one wonders?

We don’t need Paul Ryan. He’s one of them and while his elevation would make some happy and appear to fix the leadership problem, the base wouldn’t be pleased at all. We all know, except for our elites, what the problem was. They didn’t represent us. They made promises then immediately forgot them continuing to advance Obama’s unconstitutional programs with lame excuses for their failure. But we didn’t forget. They couldn’t find a solution to that problem, even if they wanted to, so the base, the Tea Party’s, is forcing a solution on them. A reckoning!

We desperately need a change in government, one that believes in and obeys the US Constitution and the rule of law. It’s happened before but we mistake if we believe the corrupt will police themselves. They don’t, they won’t, so we have to do it for them. Besides, we don’t need their permission to change government anyway.

American’s don’t function well under dictators. Somehow we can always find a way to squash ‘em, even at local levels. American’s are sovereign citizens of a Republic and not subjects of some political ruling class. We’ve been there and done that and we cannot be the generation that surrenders those hard fought for blessings of liberty to social systems we already know to be failures, especially when we don’t have to, except at the point of a gun.

In governing, Obama has violated the Constitution by acts of commission. The GOP has become an accessory before the fact by acts of omission (not doing their job). In other words they go along to get along, the citizens be damned. So, “an unconstitutional act is not law; it confers no rights; it imposes no duties; affords no protection; it creates no office; it is in legal contemplation as inoperative as though it had never been passed.” ….Norton vs Shelby County, 118, US 425.

When the Congress writes a new law, we must always ask to whom does the law apply, who benefits? Then ask by what authority enumerated in the Constitution is the law enacted? Again, who benefits? And, don’t be dazzled either by “lawyer speak.” That’s one of our problems.

Remember freedom is the goal the Constitution is the way. Now, go get ‘em. (9 Oct 2015)
