Obituaries

Mr. Ralph E. Womack age 76 of Ellijay died Thursday October 29, 2015.

Mr. Womack was born March 20, 1939 in Austell Ga. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where showed his love for his community and his Savior by serving on the Mission Committee and worked with the youth. He served as Chaplin with the Georgia Disaster, also worked in the food service area. He worked with Drug Corp Rehab with the Ellijay Court and a mentor with the Christain Learning Center. Ralph was also very instrumental in the Annual Live Nativity that portrayed the story of Christ’s birth. He loved to help spread the good news of Christ. Ralph was quick to tell you that God’s love had transformed him. One always hopes that their life will leave a legacy… Ralph’s most certainly did, and will continue to bless the community he loved so dearly.

According to Janice Durden, Ralph used his many talents in wood working to help establish a local ministry called THRIFT. He worked tirelessly to build anything that could be imagined! From store fixtures or displays, even to toy repair, he would tinker until he got it just perfect. He loved knowing that his talents would be used to bless his community through ministry. Ralph was always seen laughing and encouraging other volunteers. His sweet manner led him to become known as the “angel” of the thrift store. He was often told that he needed to “tuck his wings back in his shirt” before leaving the store. He was precious part of the THRIFT family. He was preceded in death by his wife; Collen Womack.

Family and friends survive.
