Mrs. Patricia C. Cox, 82, of Lindenhurst, Ill, died Thursday, January 14, 2016.

She was born January 7, 1934 in Blakely, to the late George and Sallie Correll. She was a 1956 graduate of Grady Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Atlanta, and was a 1976 graduate of Barat College where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics. She married Joseph C. Cox in 1954 and later moved to Illinois in 1967. She had a career in workforce development, working for the Lake County government for 20 years before retiring at age 65.

She is survived by sons Joseph C. “Sam” (Monica) Cox Jr. and George A. “Gus” (Maureen) Cox; and grandchildren, Joseph C. “Jack” Cox III, Kelly Cox, Casey Cox and Cody Cox.

She is preceded in death by husband, Joseph C. Cox Sr.; and siblings, Mike Correll and Jackie Harvey.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2016, at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Drake officiating.
