Mrs. Maudie Ann Crane Reed age 85 of Ellijay, Georgia passed on Wednesday afternoon, June 29, 2016, at her residence.

Mrs. Reed was born April 10, 1931 in Dawsonville, Georgia to her late parents Mark and Dora Watson Crane. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church and worked as a lunch lady for the Gilmer County School System. Maudie is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Reed, and her son, Hughie Reed.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda and Emory Jones, JoAnn Reed Medlin, and Vickie and Harl Pool, all of Ellijay, GA; Sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Rebecca Reed, Robert and Angie Reed and Linda P. Reed, all of Ellijay, GA; 15 Grandchildren, 33 Great grandchildren, and 2 great great granchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 2nd, 2016 from the Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Hensley and Rev. Jamie Kerr officiating. Music and vocals will be by the Salem Baptist Church Choir and Loren and Donna McVey. Graveside interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with David Jones, Michael Reed, Joey Reed, Nicholas Reed, Jason Reed, Donnie Lee Cantrell, Tim Reed, Billy Medlin, Travis Pool and Joe Bouhl serving as pallbearers.

Family will recieve friends from 5pm until 9pm on Thursday, June 30th, 2016 and from 11am until 9pm on Friday, July 1st, 2016.
