A tree blocking main street in Ellijay was in the process of being removed just before noon on May 23rd, Tuesday, traffic was being turned back.

Police blocked traffic in both directions on Main street due to a large tree which appears to have fallen on it’s own.  The area is next to the Ace Hardware.  You could hear the chainsaws as multiple people were working on clearing the way.  The area was cleared pretty fast but motorists had  to plan around the area for approximately an hour.
