Mr. J.L. Edmondson, age 84, of Ellijay, died Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
Mr. Edmondson was born December 10, 1932 in Cherokee County, GA the son of the late Carl Edmondson and Roma Wright Weaver. He was a retired poultry farmer, member and deacon of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and loved camping and fishing. One of the joys of his life was Bluegrass Music ,especially Bluegrass Gospel, which he has played, for many years in various groups of family and friends. His parents, sister, Rosie Weaver, grandson, Cameron Green and great grandson Mack Mullinax preceded him in death.
Survivors include; his wife of 64 years, Agatha Beasley Edmondson, son, Tim Edmondson, Ellijay, daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Walt Cannon, Diane and Donald DeHart all of Ellijay, sisters and brothers-in-law: Lois and Charlie Morgan, Evelyn and Leonard Shoemake, Betty Kirkland all of Dawsonville, Ora and Randy Moore, Anderson, SC, Joy and J.C. Land, Ballground and Ruth and Jerry Sweatman, Carnesville, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Rev. David Havice officiating. Interment will be in the Yukon cemetery.
The family will meet with friends Friday Sept. 1, 2017 from 5pm until 9pm at the funeral home.
Bernhardt Funeral Home Ellijay is in charge of arrangements.
