  • GHS Summer Softball Update

    The Gilmer High School Lady Bobcats softball team recently hosted the Fannin County Lady Rebels. The Lady “Cats” fell to Fannin in the first game 12-7, but rebounded with an 8-0 victory. Starting pitcher Savannah Chalfant started the game and finished with 13 strikeouts.

  • The Traveling Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Wall Opens

    The American Veterans Traveling Vietnam Wall was welcomed to Ellijay with an opening ceremony emceed my by Mark Simmons, during which Retired Senior Master Sergeant Sam Burrell (Air Force 66′-89) spoke of the faces, families, and memories that matched the names on the Wall. Attendees were also treated to a helicopter video.
