The former Gilmer High School Bobcats basketball players faced off against the current “Cats” in the annual alumni basketball games. The current “Cats” swept the alums with the Lady Bobcats beating the alumni team 73-50 and the Boys beating the men, which included, current head coach, Jordan Hice, 80-61.

The Gilmer Recreation Department All-Stars fell to the Fannin County Recreation Department All-Stars 14-4 in the championship round of the ETC TV3 “10 and Under Summer Slam.” Gilmer faced Fannin last year and fell short as well. GRDA beat the Pickens County Recreation Department All-Stars 12-3 in its first game.

The North Georgia Elite All-Comers Track Meet was held at Gilmer High School. The meet featured 40 competitors aged 5-73. Alex Stolz broke the Clear Creek Middle School record in the mile with a time of 5:41.2. Stolz also tied the half mile record with a time of 2:26. The results are as listed below.

The Gilmer youth baseball camp will take place June 27-29. The camp is for those between the ages of 5-14. The cost is $50 dollars per child; half price for siblings. Breakfast and lunch included. The camp will be held on the Gilmer High School baseball field from 8am-12pm.
