Gilmer Pick Pocket Gets More Brazen by the Day

Gas prices in Gilmer County, a subject we are closely following here at FYN, continue to rise alarmingly. Since our last gas price report from the first week of March, prices have risen another 36 cents per gallon – to $3.79 on April 11th.

In our March report, we did some math to see how the previous week’s $.18 increase would affect the Gilmer community. We found that if 250 cars purchased 15 gallons of gas per day at that price, customers would be spending $20,475 more per month than at the previous week’s prices.

So how does this month’s whopping increase scale up? If this month’s price increase is added to the $.18 from the previous story (a total increase of $.54 since February 25th), the same 250 customers would be spending $2,025 more per day, $14,175 more per week, and $61,424 more per month.
