Mrs. Majorie Sales Chance age 73 of Dogwood Drive, Ellijay, Ga. died Monday June 6, 2011.

Mrs. Chance was born November 23, 1937 in Gilmer Co. the daughter of the late Carl Sales and Oma Hill Sales. She worked in the lunchroom for Gilmer County Schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay.

Survivors include: Husband: Rayson Chance of the home; Daughter: Michelle Kersey, Dalton; Sons: Ronald Chance, Chatsworth, Marvin Chance, Ellijay, Edward Chance, Calhoun; 7 Grandchildren: Dana Davis, Dawn Brown, Kaitlin Chance, Sarah Chance, Robbie Chance, McKinley Kersey, and Jackson Kersey; 2 Great grandchildren: Avery Davis and Chance Brown; Sister: Edna Sanford, Ellijay; Brothers: Hill Sales, Wayne Sales, and Billy Sales, all of Ellijay; Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday June 9 at 4pm from the First Baptist Church of Ellijay with Dr. David Drake officiating. Interment will be held in the Nine Mile Methodist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, June 8 from 3pm until 9pm at the Bernhardt Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nine Mile Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 117 Sam Hill Road, Ellijay, GA 30540.
