Mr. Luther Waldo Davis, age 83, of the Tailscreek Community, Ellijay, Ga. passed from this life on Saturday, October 15th, 2011 from Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper. He was a member of Dovers Chapel Church, born July 16th, 1928 to his late parents, Arvil and Annis Dotson Davis in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Ga. Mr. Davis served his country honorably in the United States Army and was employed as a kriller at Galaxy Carpet. He is preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Davis.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Willard and Linda Davis of Ellijay, Ga.; one brother , Buford Davis; two sisters, Inez Logan of Ellijay, Ga. , Josie Davis of Ellijay, Ga.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 18th, 2011 from Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Dotson and Rev. Joey Patterson officiating, vocals performed by Rosalee Burgess. Interment service will follow in the Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Randy Hamrick, Andy Martin, Ruel Defoor, Earl Defoor, Randy Davis, Curtis Davis and Charles Starks, honorary pallbearer Kenneth Buckner.

Family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 pm Sunday, October 16th, 2011 and Monday October 17th, 2011 at Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
