Jerry Tuso Announces His Candidacy for County Commissioner Post 1

Jerry Tuso announces for the Gilmer County Board of Commissioners Post 1 and will run as a member of the Republican Party.Mr. Tuso is currently the 1st Vice Chairman of the Gilmer County Republican Party. In the last three years this organization has grown rapidly in participation and is known throughout the state as a major player in the Republican political field in the selection and support of conservative candidates. It has also been active in the support of the Kids Kottage and the scholarship programs for Gilmer High School students.

His experience level is varied and encompasses his 25 years as an Air Traffic Controller, three years as Human Resources Manager for Crown Cork and Seal Corporation and three years as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission in the City of Hurst, Texas, with a population of 60,000 which is also where he attended Tarrant Business School. He currently serves as an expert in contract negotiations dealing with the Federal Aviation Administration and Federal Contractors in the Air Traffic Control Towers and Weather Observation Stations.

Mr. Tuso and his wife, Christine, reside in Quinn Springs and are charter members of Mountain View Alliance Church, which is heavily committed to the mission field. His daughter, Leslie, a former missionary to China, is a Methodist Pastor and and serves the Williamstown First Methodist Church is McCayesville.

His priorities would be to return Gilmer County to financial stability in order to provide the continuation of strong law enforcement, parks and recreation areas for the children, road repair and the bringing new businesses to the county via tax incentives.
