Margaret Evelyn Walsh, age 80, of Canton, GA died on Monday October 1, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Clifton and Evelyn Akehurst. Mrs. Walsh was born in 1932 on Bradford Street in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a graduate of St. Katherines Commercial school. She worked for many years as a secretary for several Baltimore employers including the Dean of the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and Hygiene. Later she was the bookeeper for The Immaculate Heart of Mary parish on Loch Raven Blvd. and the Catholic High School for Girls of Baltimore. She married Bernard Walsh in 1972. After raising their six children, she found joy in her grandchildren and traveling with her husband. She was a lifelong avid reader. Mrs. Walsh also enjoyed Orioles baseball, Notre Dame and Ravens football.

She is survived by her husband, Bernard Walsh of Canton, GA, children; Eleanor Kotula, Regina Walsh(Danny) Davis, Martin Walsh, Ronald Kuhns (Carol), John Kuhns, Matt Walsh; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; She was the oldest of seven siblings.

There will be a memorial mass planned at a later date. Mrs. Walsh will be laid to rest in the Ellijay City Cemetery. There is no visitation planned.
