Sunday afternoon a pain went through my lower back like nothing I have ever experienced before. Monday morning I was in so much pain I could not get out of bed. My wife made several attempts to try to get me up and could not. She called a friend to come help. He tried to get me up but the pain was so bad that he was afraid it could cause damage.He called 911 and a Gilmer County ambulance was at my house in less than ten minutes. They were great. They were able to position me on a board to move me into the ambulance. They were very professional and considerate and took great care of me as they transported me to the hospital.

The hospital staff was amazing, immediately taking steps to alleviate my pain. They sent me for x-rays and although I was still in some pain and experiencing discomfort – the X-ray staff was very gentle while moving me from a bed onto an x-ray table. The doctor explained the x-rays thoroughly and the treatment before sending me home.

It is good to know we have a hospital like North Georgia Medical Center that cares so much for their community. I am recovering very well and wanted to publicly express my gratitude!
