Mr. Ernest Holt “Sonny” Jenkins, age 79 of Cherry Log, GA passed Wednesday, July 17th, 2013 at his residence.Mr. Jenkins was born August 21st, 1933 in Dahlonega, GA to his late parents Tom and Mary Elizabeth Hester Jenkins. Sonny was a member of the Boardtown Church of Christ for 52 years and he retired from Dalton Paving . He is preceded in death by his daughter, Coleen Jenkins.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Loretta Holloway Jenkins of the home in Cherry Log; daughters and sons-in-law Trish J. and Earl Burgess, and Sandra J. and Coy Norton, all of Cherry Log, GA and Connie J. and Devell Ferrell, of Blue Ridge, GA; son and daughter-in-law Junior and Sonia Jenkins of Cherry Log, GA; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, July 19th, 2013 from the Boardtown Church of Christ, with Min. Tommy Kyle, Min. David Mullins, and Min. Butch Jones officiating. Graveside interment will follow in the Boardtown Church of Christ Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Satterfield, Brad Collins, Eric Thorsen, Jeff Payne, Bill Richie and David Crump; Honorary Pallbearers will be the National Response Solution Team of Blue Ridge.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 18th, 2013 from 2pm until 9pm at the Logan Funeral Home and Chapel. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to the Boardtown Church of Christ Cemetery Fund, c/o Shannon Bearden, 189 Chancey Road, Cherry Log, GA 30522 in memory of Mr. Jenkins.
