Below is a list of events happening at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cherry Log in the coming weeks:PENTECOST SUNDAY
Sunday, June 8th is Pentecost Sunday in which we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit to empower and indwell the church. This great event happened on the feast of Pentecost which was fifty days after Passover. The resurrection and ascension of Jesus occasioned the coming of the Holy Spirit. This is recorded in the book of Acts in chapter 2. Let us all welcome the Holy Spirit to indwell us as individuals and our church collectively.
NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL STUDY SERIES
Our classes are beginning a study of the Prophet, Ezekiel. His ministry began in 593 BC and continued for twenty years. God used him to speak of Jerusalem’s ruin, judgments upon the surrounding nations, and the final restoration of Israel. Some of the prophecies are yet future and we are going to study what will happen.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS NEAR
The children and youth will be gathering for an exciting time beginning at 6:00 on Monday evening, June 16th. VBS director, Vicki Easley, has her staff in place and they are gathering the essential supplies for the school. Pray that this week will make a spiritual impact on the hearts and minds of our children and youth.
WOUNDED WARRIORS
Last week, David Peers spoke to over 400 wounded warriors who gathered for a retreat in Myrtle Beach. It was a time of relaxation and inspiration for our wounded service men.
FAMILY CAMPS
Some of our families are devoting their vacations this summer to ministering in camps that minister to people in need such as children with cancer. On Sunday, June 15th, at the conclusion of our worship, Doug Moore will tell us about a camp they have ministered in. The Lorenzo family went recently to a camp in Arkansas.
