James Burley Pittman, 78 of Ellijay, Georgia passed Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at North Georgia Medical Center in Ellijay, Georgia.Born Wednesday, August 28, 1935 in Ellijay, Georgia, he was the son of the late Howard Pittman and the late Ethel Dotson Pittman.

He was employed by Mohawk Carpet Mill.

Survivors include wife,of 54 years, Frances “Jeannie” Marlow Pittman of the home in Ellijay, GA; sons, James Bubba and Diane “Shorty” Pittman of Ellijay, GA, Randy and Michelle Pittman of Ellijay, GA, Johnny Pittman of Ellijay, GA and special son James Defoor of Ellijay, GA, daughters, Tammy and Rev. Chris Corbin of Chatsworth, GA, Katie and Rev. Mitchell Pack of Ellijay, GA and Allison Hammontree of Cumming, GA, sisters, Shirley Pittman Watson of Oldfort, TN and Adele Pittman Davis of Ellijay, GA; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 20th, 2013 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Dotson, Rev. Chris Corbin, Rev. Emmett Burgess, and Rev. Joey Patterson officiating. Music and vocals will be by the McArthur Family. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Logan Funeral Home.
