Mrs. Kitty Ree Aaron Pierce, age 88, of Orr St., Ellijay died Wednesday July 30, 2014.
Miss Kitty was born July 19, 1926 in Fannin County, the daughter of the late Lee and Maude Ellis Aaron. She worked for a time for Lockheed Aircraft and was chief Bailiff for the Gilmer County Court System for 30 + years. She was one of the founding members of Oak Hill Independent Church and loved listening to and singing gospel music, having sung many years with the Happy Four Quartet and late with The Samaritan’s. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Woodrow Pierce, son and daughter-in-law: Woody and Mattie Pierce and Sister Jean Sutton.
Survivors include: Daughter: Barbara Sanford, Ellijay, 4 grandchildren and in laws: Lee and Jennifer Pierce, Shannon and Lauree Pierce, Staci and Greg McClure, Scott Sanford, 10 great grandchildren, niece Susan Sanford and nephew Ricky Sutton both of Ellijay.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 2, 2014 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home with Pastor Edward Ledford officiating.
Interment will be in the Oak Hill Independent Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00am until 9:00pm at the Funeral Home.
