Weekly Business Highlight: Immediate MedCare

Community

In the midst of the looming threat to lose the community’s sole hospital, a new
businesses plan to open in East Ellijay.

With one location already opened in Gilmer County, Immediate MedCare plans to open
their new, primary location off Highway 515 beside KFC.The new location will be able to treat all urgent, non-emergency illnesses and injuries,
which are unlikely to result in hospitalization.

For patients tired of waiting for hours at the emergency room to be treated, Immediate
MedCare is designed to eliminate that waiting period and treat patients with outstanding
customer service.

Patients who have emergencies that cannot wait for an appointment with their primary
care physician will also benefit from this type of medical service.

In this sense, Immediate MedCare will be the first occupational health service in Gilmer
County to bridge the gap in between Primary Care and emergency hospital visits.

This system is intended to benefit both local hospitals by cutting down on the small
emergencies that fill up hospital waiting rooms as well as Primary Care physicians by
clearing up their waiting rooms.
