Mrs. Evelyn Davis Burgess age 94 of Overland Trail Ellijay died Sunday January 9, 2011.

Mrs. Burgess was born on September 24, 1916 in Gilmer Co. She is the daughter of the late John Wesley Davis & Laura Ann Simmons Davis. She worked in the textile industry and was a member of the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband Harvey Burgess.

Survivors include: Daughters & sons-in-law: Johnnie Ann & James Gaskill, Thomaston, GA, Kathie & Jerry Banks, Ellijay; Grandchildren: Wesley & Amy Banks, Jennifer & Shane Holley, April & Shannon Sanford, Jena & Richard Jones and Janna Banks; 8 Great grandchildren; Step-children: Luther Burgess, Ellijay, Betty Jean Sanford, Ellijay, Ed Burgess, St. Mary’s, GA; Several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren And nieces & nephews also survive
