Mrs. Anna Brand Pletcher, age 81 of Cherry Log, Ga. passed on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011 at her residence.Born November 2nd, 1929 to her late parents, Valentino and Margaret Brand, in Wiesbaden, Germany and also graduated German & French Colleges with PhD’s in Music, Language and Political Science. Mrs. Pletcher taught political science at the University of California at Berkeley and Armstrong Universities.
Survivors include husband, Col. George Pletcher of the home in Cherry Log, Ga., daughters & sons-in-law Jessie and Mike Neely of Register, Ga., Loretta M. & Don Bruster of Murrayville, Ga., Norman and Jim McCormick of Gilbert, Az., Jacquelyn K. & Alvin Wilkinson of Ellabell, Ga., sons & daughters-in-law James T. & Marsha Hargreaves of Pooler, Ga, Edward & Julie Hargreaves of Savannah, Ga., and George D. and Linda Pletcher of Algona, Wa., five grandchildren, Steve Neely, Angelia Jones, Crystal Nellya Watson, James T. Hargreaves III and Edward L. Hargreaves, Jr.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26th, 2011 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Bradley officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion. Interment will be in the Chastain Memorial Park in Blue Ridge, Fannin County, Ga.
In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit, P.O. Box 2336, Blue Ridge, Ga. 30073.
Family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. Friday, February 25th, 2011 at Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
