Kenneth Arlin Davis : Obituary

Mr. Kenneth Arlin Davis, age 85 of the Northcutt Community, Ellijay, Ga. passed from this life on Sunday, March 6th, 2011 at his residence. Born January 12th, 1926 to his late parents, Colquitt Columbus and Essie Holden Davis in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Ga., Mr. Davis was a graduate of Gilmer High School Class of 1943, served honorably in the United States Navy during WWII, and was employed as a machine operator in the carpet mill business. He is preceded in death by his wife Ethel Octavia Smith Davis.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Sandra & Elmer Pankey of Ellijay, Ga., Katheryn & Michael Watkins of Ellijay, Ga., Pamela J. & Theodore Hall of Ellijay, Ga., Donna & Robert Brumbelow of Cumming, Ga., sons and daughters-in-law Leroy Davis of Ellijay, Ga., Rev. Jerry & Mary Davis of Chatsworth, Ga., Ronald Davis of Ellijay, Ga., 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, sister Gwen Davis Lynch of Chatsworth, Ga., and brother Willard A. Davis of Cordell, Ga.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 from the Ellijay Church of Christ with Min. Butch Jones and Min. David Mullins officiating, Barry Kingsley will perform vocals.

Mr. Davis will lie in state from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m. Military honors will be given at 12:45 p.m. at the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Interment will be in the Northcutt Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Ryes, Jeff Davis, Dustin Bolmon, Jerry Davis, Jason Davis, Adam Hall, and Ben Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Cook, Fonzy Smith, Jr., Russell Ray, Arthel Davis, Leonard Davis, Clarence Davis, Billy Weeks, Gus Cochran, George Hall, Tom Hall, Edward Holloway, Quentin Holloway, Ralph Chancey, Marvin Pritchett, David Weaver, Dr. Julio Swartzman & Dr. Jennifer Crawford.

Family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 7th, and Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 at the Logan Funeral Home.
