Ruby Lee Dotson Davenport, age 87 of Gates Chapel Community, Ellijay, Ga., passed from this life on Sunday evening, March 6th, 2011 at Heritage Healthcare in Blue Ridge, Ga.A member of New Hope Baptist Church, born October 11th, 1923 to her late parents, John Thomas and Nancy Sanford Dotson, in Ellijay, Ga. She was employed as a housekeeper at Watkins Memorial and Gilmer Nursing Home.
Survivors include son, Tom W. Davenport of Ellijay, Ga., brother, Ira Dotson of Ellijay, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 from the New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Jones officiating. The New Hope Baptist Church Choir will perform music and song. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Dotson, Ronnie Tankersley, T.O. Carroll and Rodney Carroll.
Family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 at the Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
