Mr. Fred Quarles, age 84, of Lake City, Ga., formerly of Ellijay, Ga., passed from this life on Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 from his residence.
Born June 16th, 1926 to his late parents, Oscar Milton and Elzie Sanford Quarles in Ellijay, Gilmer County, Ga., Mr. Quarles was a previous employee of J&E Mills, Lockheed and retired from Eastern Airlines. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII.
Survivors include wife of 63 years, Willa Worley Quarles of the home in Lake City, Ga., daughter and son-in-law, Geneva Q. and Edward Elder of Lake City, Ga.; grandchildren, Jacob Elder and Kathleen Elder in Lake City, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 8th, 2011 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Bradley officiating. Interment service will follow in the Pleasant Gap Baptist Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7th, 2011 at Logan Funeral Home and Chapel.
