Survivors include wife of 44 years, Neva Little Helms of the home in Ellijay, Ga.; son, Millas Don Helms IV of New Orleans, La.; daughter and son-in-law, Amy & James McDonald of LaPlace, La.; two grandsons, brother Clifton Helms of LaPlace, La.; sisters Sandra McPherson of Kill Double Hill, N.C., Gay Helms of Elizabeth City, N.C., Gale Barker of Elizabeth, N.C. and several nieces and nephews.
