Mr. Robert Lee Middlebrooks, age 70 of Ellijay, Georgia passed from this life on Friday, August 26th, 2011 at the Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, GA. A member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay, born on December 16th, 1940 to his late parents Andrew Lafayette and Sara Elizabeth Taylor Middlebrooks in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was a graduate of Ft. Lauderdale High School, class of 1959 and was employed as a steward in the marine dock and ship loading industry. Mr. Middlebrooks served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era.

Survivors include wife of 40 years, Dixie Petmecky Middlebrooks of the home in Ellijay; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Erin Middlebrooks of Ellijay, GA; granddaughters Alliyah Secorel of Ellijay, GA, Kyler Middlebrooks of Brandon, FL; sisters Joan Middlebrooks Moore of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Debbie Middlebrooks of Mintzer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; nephew Michael Mintzer of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 30th, 2011 from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Drake, Rev. Mike Hadden and Col. George Pletcher officiating, vocals will be performed by Scott Easton. Military committal service will follow in the Logan Funeral Home Pavillion with military rites performed by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Robert Middlebrooks, Jim Smeleer and Rich Griffies. Interment will be in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

Family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 29th, 2011 at Logan Funeral Home.
